Three thieves broke into the store room of a sneaker shop in Texas but left almost empty-handed because most shoe boxes had just one shoe in them.
Chad Steward, owner of Laced Connection in Fort Worth, took a number of steps to protect his store against theft.
The thieves were unable to get from the back storage room to the front of the shop so were left only with access to hundreds of boxes of right shoes and no complete pairs to steal.
At around 8.10am on Friday morning the three masked thieves broke past the back door of Steward's shop hoping to leave with valuable trainers but instead they came away with around five single shoes in their boxes, with little value.
They tried breaking into a bathroom window but were unsuccessful so instead breached two padlocks to enter the shop via a store room.
Surveillance cameras captured the thieves as they burst into the shop frantically only to leave disappointed around a minute later.
'Its only got one shoe,' one of the thieves can be heard saying before the three of them pile out of the store.
