During a press conference on Tuesday, officials announced that hazardous materials from a train derailment are still contaminating waterways along the Ohio River. Four tributaries over 7.5 miles are affected, leading to the death of at least 3,500 fish, according to Mary Mertz, the director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. However, officials are saying they're confident that the water supplies are not being affected, despite tests saying otherwise. Officials also claim there is no evidence that non-aquatic species have been impacted despite countless videos also showing otherwise. That includes 12 different species of dead fish that have been detected, luckily, none of them are endangered or threatened.
