Irish MEP Mick Wallace has accused the European Union (EU) of ignoring the United States' involvement in the explosions on the Nord Stream pipeline. In an interview with RTÉ Radio One, Wallace stated that "there is a great deal of hypocrisy in the EU's response to the Nord Stream explosions," and that the EU had "totally ignored the fact that the United States had a role in the explosions." He went on to criticize the EU for its lack of transparency, saying that "the EU is not a transparent organization, and it does not act in the interests of the people." Wallace also expressed his disappointment with the EU's handling of the situation, stating that "the EU's response to the Nord Stream explosions has been woefully inadequate, and they have failed to take any meaningful action." He called on the EU to "take responsibility for its actions and stop ignoring the involvement of the United States in the explosions." Wallace also expressed his concern over the potential environmental impact of the explosions, stating that "the Nord Stream pipeline is a major source of energy for Europe, and any damage to it could have serious environmental consequences." He called on the EU to "take urgent action to ensure the safety of the pipeline and to investigate the role of the United States in the explosions."
