A San Jose man was arrested in connection with an attack on a street vendor with a baseball bat, police said, an assault that was caught on video and quickly attracted attention online.
Kintex Ho, 43, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the San Jose Police Department. He also faces an attempted carjacking charge for trying “to move the victim’s vehicle by force,” police said.
The incident unfolded Saturday around 10:40 a.m. when officers responded to reports of an assault near the 1400 block of Old Bayshore Highway near the intersection of Interstate 880 and Highway 101.
The victim, a food vendor, told responding officers he was attacked with a baseball bat by an employee of Intex Auto Parts, a nearby business, police said.
Ho was booked into Santa Clara County jail. It was unclear Sunday whether he had been released on bail.
The victim declined medical attention, police said.
