In a distressing turn of events, 21-year-old Soren Aldaco is taking legal action against the doctors who performed her attempted gender transition at the tender age of 17. She claims they disregarded her mental health conditions, pushing her onto a destructive path with lifelong consequences.
The lawsuit, filed in the Tarrant County District Court of Texas, accuses the medical professionals of behaving like "ideologues" rather than proper caregivers. Aldaco's autism, depression, anxiety, and other comorbidities were allegedly overlooked during the evaluation process.
"The repercussions of these interventions have led to Soren’s permanent disfigurement and profound psychological scarring," the suit states. "The Defendants’ breaches of their fiduciary duties are only underscored by the fact that each Defendant met Soren and facilitated these ‘therapies’ at a pivotal juncture in Soren’s life—when she was grappling not only with the universal challenges of adolescence and body image but also with a complex amalgamation of diagnosed mental health comorbidities and other psychological and social disorders."
Aldaco is part of a growing group of young detransitioners, particularly women, who are taking legal action against the medical establishment for their attempted gender transitions. These individuals sought hormonal or surgical interventions and later regretted their decision, reverting to living as their biological sex.
In a similar vein, Prisha Mosley and other detransitioners have also filed lawsuits against medical practitioners, alleging that they were rushed into life-altering paths without proper consideration for their mental health and well-being. As the detransitioner movement gains momentum, more individuals are seeking justice for the irreversible consequences of these medical procedures.
