LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Security video caught the moments when a stolen Ford truck was used as a battering ram in the effort to steal an ATM from a Lynnwood market.
The incident happened early on Aug. 28 at One Stop Market, located in the 7600 block of 196th Street.
According to surveillance footage, it took only seconds for thieves to ruin the entire front of the market. In a departure from most "crash and grab" cases, the suspects backed up the truck into the store, with a trail of destruction leading more than 15 feet into the interior of the building.
"The debris blocked our entrance, so we had to push the out of the way just to be able to get back to our counter," noted Noah Dewey, a store employee.
Following the first break-in, the video shows two suspects running into the store while a third suspect waits outside.
Moments later, each suspect got back into the truck, where they backed the vehicle into the shop a second time. The impact was so tremendous that security cameras almost lost power.
