

Chicago police are investigating five armed robberies that occurred in under an hour Friday afternoon in Wicker Park, Logan Square, and nearby neighborhoods.
The spree began around 12:40 p.m. near Damen and Cortez in West Town. A man told police that two offenders displayed guns during a robbery attempt, then fled in a black vehicle, possibly a Toyota.
He described them as Black males between 17 and 23 years old. The younger one, who pointed a gun at the victim’s head, wore a blue mask and a black hoodie.
Then, just before 1 p.m., two robbers exited a black sedan with a broken side window to rob another man in the 1300 block of North Hoyne.
At about the same time, two masked men exited a small charcoal-colored sedan to rob three people in the 1700 block of North Troy. The gunmen escaped with cash and wallets.
Another robbery occurred around 1 p.m. in the 3400 block of West Cortland. Two men armed with at least one firearm robbed an Uber driver and another victim on the street, according to a report.
At 1:19 p.m., two men pushed a woman and took money from her pockets in the 1600 block of West Chicago Avenue.
No arrests were made for any of the crimes.
