France defender Jean-Clair Todibo has drawn the ire of football fans on social media after he was spotted smirking during a minute's silence for victims of the Israel and Gaza conflict.
Over the course of the last week, horrific scenes across Israel and Gaza have unfolded, leading to the deaths of thousands of Israelis and Palestinians. Additionally, France was also hit by a terror incident on Friday when an attacker killed a teacher and injured three more in the French city of Arras.
Prior to France's Euro 2024 qualifier against the Netherlands at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam, the two teams held a poignant minutes silence for victims of the Israel-Gaza conflict, and the individuals involved in the Arras terror attack. However, when the broadcast camera panned across to the French bench, Nice defender Todibo could be seen laughing.
