Australian tennis great Alicia Molik has helped save a girl who collapsed behind a press conference on Thursday.
The former world No.8 and two-time grand slam doubles champion was being unveiled as the Adelaide International’s new tournament director when the incident unfolded on center court.
Molik had been listening to a journalist’s question when a loud noise prompted her and others to turn around.
The 42-year-old sprung into action upon realizing one of the young players on hand for the announcement was now lying unresponsive on the ground.
Molik, a mother of two, tapped into her knowledge of first aid by rolling the girl onto her side.
She comforted the teenager, who is now recovering in the hospital, until paramedics arrived.
