Looks like she made the right choice.
Just as Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Halthus was about to hand down a sentence to three-time felon Deobra Redden, he is heard yelling expletives, and she has a show of fear on her face. That’s when Redden, 30, appears in the video fame and flies over the furniture and begins attacking her.
Court documents show that, on April 23, Redden “[threatened] to bust the kneecaps” of another man, “resulting in substantial bodily harm.”
A month later, Redden was ordered — by a different judge — to undergo a competency determination. He was committed to a state behavioral facility and then deemed competent for trial in October.
He pleaded guilty in November, and then Holtus issued a bench warrant for his arrest after he missed a court appearance in December.
