Initially, it appeared that Manasquan had achieved a stunning upset against the heavily favored Camden in the NJSIAA Group 2 Semifinals, securing a 47-46 victory with Griffin Linstra's putback just before the buzzer. This led to a wild celebration at that end of the court, with players and fans rejoicing at the apparent triumph.

However, the jubilation was short-lived. Less than a minute later, after game officials convened at midcourt, the initial call was overturned. It was ruled that Linstra did not release the shot in time, triggering a joyous celebration at the opposite end of the court. In stark contrast, the Manasquan players, coaches, and fans were left in stunned disbelief, grappling with the controversial decision that dashed their hopes of advancing.
