SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A placement hearing took place Friday for Alvin Ray Quarles, also known as the ‘Bolder-Than-Most’ rapist.
Held at the San Diego Central Courthouse, the release hearing was scheduled for consideration of the terms of his release as a sexually violent predator.
Quarles spent 25 years in state prison after pleading guilty in 1989 to committing a string of rapes, robberies and burglaries.
He was dubbed the “Bolder-Than-Most” rapist because of the way he attacked his victims, at knifepoint, sometimes forcing the women’s husbands or boyfriends to watch.
Quarles didn’t appear Friday with a continuance now set for Aug 16, 2024. A judge is set to decide the placement conditions upon Quarles release at that time.
