The finance minister of Niger Republic, Ahmat Jidoud, wept and shed tears having been told by the new military Junta to account for all the stolen money of the country.
A group of soldiers plotted a coup and took over power from the President of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum and detained him in the presidential palace.
Reading from a statement, Colonel Amadou Abdramane, seated and flanked by nine other officers, said defence and security forces had decided: “Put an end to the regime that you know due to the deteriorating security situation and bad governance.”
